Fresco is an antique painting technique realized by painting with water diluted pigments upon wet mortar. In this way, once mortar has consolidated the colour remains totally absorbed, holding hard over the years.

Master craftsmen realize fresco in Tema Italiano workshop by the old traditional methods.  They ‘create’ the wall upon a wood frame and use mortar and water-based natural colours; they imagine, create and give new life to ancient decorations keeping unchanged the traditional way of fresco technique.

They search stories and sensations to be passed on, left behind even if deep-seated in our chest.

Picture and mirror frames originated from this research, so as doors and table tops, decorative panels to dress classic and contemporary spaces, with a particular eye to the luxury hotel furnishing.

Our company creates and reproduces both traditional subjects/images  and modern up-to-date frescos by introducing and mixing different materials. The aim is to recall the warm sensations of the traditional fresco representing though the contemporary urban life.

Fresco art can be realized on site upon walls , or upon panels – even of huge dimensions- to be installed later. Quite a wide selection of subjects is available in our catalog, or we can realize custom subjects on client’s request.

From classical Greek “Copper, Bronze” and “Engrave, Write”.
According to Vasari (1568) the first printed engraving was due to Maso Finiguerra, a Florentine goldsmith, and dates back to 1460.
This method is taken up by Arlot d’Arno who adds a 24k gold leaf before the pressing process: hence shiny gold details embellish the printed engraving.
The printed engraving is lastly bordered by superb frame,  a fresco upon wood  realized using water based colours, natural powders on wet mortar before it dries up.
The result looks like a ‘window’ on decorations of classical inspiration.
